National Federation of the Blind
Each year at the annual convention the National Federation of the Blind awards scholarships to recognize the achievements of outstanding blind scholars. In addition to a scholarship, each winner will be brought to the 2009 National Federation of the Blind Annual Convention in July at Federation expense, providing an excellent opportunity for high level networking with active blind persons in many, many different professions and occupations. The Kenneeth Tiede Memorial Scholarship was created to provide scholarships to blind Kansans to persue higher educational goals. During the 2009 National Federation of the Blind of Kansas Annual Convention Second Vice-President Susan Stanzel discussed the history and development of the Kenneth Tiede Memorial Scholarship, explained who is elligeable to receive the scholarship and what criteria they must meet for consideration for this award. Listen to her remarks by selecting the link below: Kenneth Tiede Scholarship History The National Federation of the Blind of Kansas gives up to three Kenneth Tiede Memorial Scholarships to students who are legal residents of the State of Kansas and who will study either at a technical school or at a college or university. In addition, the winner must be able to attend the State Convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Kansas in the fall of 2010. We use the same form as is used by our National organization.
