Meet-the-Blind Month 2007 Activities

The National Federation of the Blind, made up of over 50,000 members, is a diverse and thriving organization leading the way in changing what it means to be blind. Throughout October you will have the opportunity to meet some of our members and learn about their interests, talents and contributions to our movement and to our society at large.  We invite you to learn more about our organization and to take a moment to meet the everyday, dynamic members of our movement. Below is a list of Meet-the-Blind Month activities sponsored by NFB of Kansas Chapters and divisions around the state. We will add additional information to this page as it becomes available.

South-Central Chapter

The South-central Chapter has planned a meet the blind event at the Sedgwic County zoo. We will have a booth with balloons for the children and we will write their name in Braille and attach it to the balloon. Along with candy and brochures for the adults. We also plan to walk around and enjoy the zoo and be present to engage other zoo goers. We will be doing this on October 20, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the zoo with us.
