FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK

Another year has simply flown by and it is time for our annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Kansas.

This year we are really branching out. We will be meeting at the Red Coach Inn at 2110 W. Crawford, Salina, KS 67401, telephone number is 1-800-332-0047.

Our rates are a surprising $57 per night. We haven't seen that for a while.

Our program will be very exciting. Naturally, we will cover the normal agenda items concerning lives of blind Kansans. However, this year, we are bringing in items of interest such as self defense, health and exercise, financial planning, and home safety.

Come join the South Central Chapter for a Halloween celebration!

When: Saturday night after the Banquet (October 25)

Where: At the National Federation of the Blind State Convention

Dress up or come as yourself and enjoy conversation, food, and drinks! (Room will be announced at registration.) Prizes will be awarded to best costumes!!!

RAFFLE! RAFFLE! RAFFLE! RAFFLE!

The Southcentral NFB Chapter will be raffling off a beautiful afghan hand knitted by Sharon Luka. The afghan will be on display at registration. You can purchase a raffle ticket for $2.00 at the registration table or from a Southcentral Chapter member. The drawing will be Saturday night at the Halloween party. GOOD LUCK!
